Steve, good luck with the 200R4. I've never dealt with them, because the 200r4 governor modifications require you to drop the pan and I like modifying them to get the most out of the automatics. Put a 700R4 in my sister's 69 Camaro. As easy as it is to tune a governor on a th350 or th400, I'm just curious why you would prefer the 200R4 over something like a Gear Vendors unit?

You always offer a pretty solid explanation and conclusion on why you arrive at your desired end results. I know it simply a choice, but would like to hear what tips the scale for you on the 200R4.

Remember it's a Pontiac, and the 200R4 is pretty much a bolt in swap for the BOP bolt pattern Turbo 350. It uses the existing driveshaft. No tunnel modifications. Uses the existing console shifter with an adapter plate for the extra gear position. No computer needed to run the tranny, just a throttle valve cable similar to the existing kickdown cable. Uses original speedometer cable to drive the speedo. It uses an inexpensive aftermarket crossmember. Things get much more expensive/modified with the 4L80E.

I have a great tranny guy here in NY who has worked on a number of our cars...if you get stuck I can check with him about the project you have in mind. The shop is about 2hrs 20 minutes north of NYC.

Good luck.
