I would make her look just like the picture of Bill standing next to his awesome '67 Chevelle.

Wonder what sizes he's running?? </div></div> Dan does love black steelies on the rear!! lol In the 60s I ran both black and chrome on the rear depending on which rear rubber was on. The attached pix might better show the stance, then and now. Soon after the 1969 pic was taken I replaced the pie crusts with wrinkle wall slicks. (Edit, the 1969 image file won't post for some reason? But the car appears today exactly as it did then) I have late model tires as I do regularly run this car through the gears, so 50 year old rubber was not an option. The rear pie crusts are 28x9x15 Towel City Retreads on 15x8 rims. I don't remember the size of the casing and they shave the sidewalls for a clean look. I thought these best matched what I ran back then and properly filled the wheel wells. Towel City has been doing cheater slicks dating back to the 50s. The fronts are 185/75R15s from Coker, also chosen for their profile and tread pattern. The Cragers are original old 15x6s, with rounded spokes with non-trademark R caps. Also, the stance is OEM springs all around, coil spacers up front and Air/Lift bags in the rear, 30 lbs. right and 7 lbs. left. It worked for me almost 50 years ago and still works now. (I've owned this car since October of '67) Bill W ![]() ![]() |
