Square mesh or diamond air cleaner

There are two good photos of this in vintage road tests.

PHR April '69 has photos of a very early production Van Nuys Z/28, final assembled on or about September 30, 1968. Has the square mesh element but the mesh is wrapped at a 45º angle.

Road Test August '69 has photos of a Daytona Yellow/Yellow Hound's-tooth Z/28. The interior wasn't in production until late February '69 so the car can't be earlier than that. It has the diamond mesh element.
