My 2004 Pace Shadow GT (Top of the Line) 20'10K GVW has the Glued On Side Skin (NO screwed fasteners)
Up near the top there are small areas of rust. Ive been told this is because steel frame that outside skin is glued too wasnt painted and my skin is rusting from inside out 1) Anybody else know what I'm trying to point out 2) Anybody have a solution or "fix" 3) NO, Im not going to remove outside skin at this time Thanks for your helpful suggestions

The siding delaminated. The manufacturer picked it up, put on an entire new side and delivered it back. I think your issue should also be corrected by Pace. My neighbor's trailer was also out of warranty but they still fixed it. It's worth a try. Verne |

Verne, My trailer was mfg in 2004 I think and surely out of any warranty ?????
I heard that PACE AMERICAN went out of business !!!!!! The outside skin is fine where it is overlapped and bonded/glued. My problem is very small RUST pockets that appear to be coming from backside. Hard to explain........so I suppose I need to take pics and get them online!!!!!

Chuck,
I just had an email today from a local dealer who said they could price a new Pace for me. Look at the Pace web site and the Cargo Express web site and notice the similarity in the layout and the specs. I think they are either owned by the same parent company or they merged. I understand your description of the problem. A seal at the top must have let water in. Maybe you can just repair the visible rust and re-caulk the upper trim. Verne The screwless siding may look high class, but I trust screws more than glue. IF I order a new one, I'll just ask for SS screws. |
