Back in the late 1990's they had a project for a mid-engined version of the Viper as the next evolution of the breed but the project was quashed as not being &quot;in the spirit&quot; of the giant, front-engined mystique of the Viper. [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif[/img]

The design photos were awesome and looked very much like a Dodge version of the GT40 that was noticeably Viperized. It would have been waaaaay cool.

We still have our &quot;workbench&quot; tucked safely in the garage waiting for it to be worth something, someday...

It would be nice to see what that 'viperish' GT40 looked like. Maybe there is hope after all.

I remember seeing the skunkworks photos/renderings when I worked for Mopar Muscle Magazine back in the day. We were told by the powers that be at Team Viper, in no uncertain terms, that those photos were never to be released to the public. They were quite irked that we had the photos.
