1965 Impala L-78
I have a friend that special ordered a 65 Impala SS with the 396/425 L-78 in sierra tan with a black vinyl top and the black bucket seat interior. The question is that my friend says that the black interior was not available with the sierra tan exterior and he had to have the black interior approved through the zone office as it was not a recommended color combination with sierra tan. He is much older now and we all remember things differently as we age, but I cannot imagine black not being a recommended color combination with sierra tan.
I have tried internet searches for the answer to this question and I cannot find any literature or information that addresses it. I would appreciate any help in answering the question if black was a regular combination with sierra tan exterior paint. Thanks in advance if you are able to help.

Re: 1965 Impala L-78
FWIW....Colvin's book shows Fawn, Saddle, and Black as the three available interior color choices with Sierra tan.

Re: 1965 Impala L-78
I thought black interior was a standard color and was offered with every color.

Re: 1965 Impala L-78
Well in '66, Impala SS's had black interiors available with every exterior color except Tropic Turquoise.
