That's easy. Lay down some rubber.

X2 on modern rubber for driving around. I have Firestone Sports Car 200s on the restored YH wheels that can be swapped back on in 30 min if I want that look. My car is already brutal to drive with fast ratio (fast ratio my a$$... but that's what GM called it) MANUAL steering. The bias ply tires just make it feel like I am driving on marbles.

My car came with manual steering. Original box was rebuilt for resto. I do have a real Z/28 power steering pump and pulley. Also have a very nice super quick box that I removed from a WS6 TA years ago complete with custom made hoses. I had that box on the car in the 90's and may put it back on. Hopefully it will clear my current headers. </div></div>

I hear ya Lynn on burning rubber. The state road I live on has a straight, over 1/4 mile long run (farm land and no cops) from intersection to my front door and garage and weather permitting I hit it every time I head for home...all my in laws live on the same road and at 3 o'clock in the morning they are use to it now...

We're on the same page with the power steering set up. I THINK my Z originally was a manual steering car that had a mix match of 67 standard Camaro power steering pump and gear box parts and 68 Z28 power steering brackets. I yanked it all apart and a friend of mine had 7 1980 WS6 TA parts cars (read with 4 wheel disc brakes) and he gave me one of the gearbox's. I got a 69 power steering pump and brackets from a member on T.C. in 2000, inserts from that guy in California I think it is that does the nascar power steering box's, factory style hoses and I don't think I could have done any better. Less then 3 turns lock to lock and very very touchy if your not on your best behavior...would oversteer very easy. Sometimes I wonder if I need an alignment but I haven't seen anything in reading to the contrary. All that did clear the headers that were in the car when I got it, too but have no clue what make they are. They are hanging on the wall now.
