Exactly right. Nor was Lambrecht the only small dealer in the area who operated on similar principles; there were several. Unfortunately, most of those other collections were either sold for scrap and crushed in the 80's or left to deteriorate until they were in worse condition than the cars in Pierce. Not an unusual practice in this part of the world.

I looked at buying these cars with a partner back in about 1999. The numbers didn't work out, for obvious reasons. Even 15 years ago, most of these things were too rough even to make good parts cars.
