Last there in 2009 for the Dover Dragstrip re-union. Raced there back in 73 and saw Frank Iaconnio flip his Pro Stock Vega. Track had some flaws but it was an alternative to E town

Spent a lot of weekends at Island back in the 70's...we used to drive down to race at nite...can't remember if it was Friday or Saturday..too long ago

I do remember one nite one of the guys using lots of "duct tape" to hold something in the rear suspension together for "one more run"

Hopefully they will re-open and continue the tradition

The tradition of the "duct tape" suspension products?

I can think of a few places the duct tape could be used

It just needs someone who is willing to take on the debt and make some improvments. The property itself is virtually worthless realestate and there are no neighbor problems. The Cabbage Patch is rich in history and still looks like it did in '62 (except for the newer advertising signage)
