I got my first car when I was 14. I bought a 69 Indy Pace Car Camaro with a 1964 327 in it. My dad helped me buy it. We got it home and my mom yelled at him: "YOU KNOW HE's 14 AND HIS BROTHER IS THE ONE THAT JUST TURNED 16!"
It seems that he forgot which kid was which at the time. (being one of 5 kids, I can only imagine the confusion he must have had to deal with). I have been playing with cars ever since. He did eventually help my brother get a Daytona Yellow 1969 SS396/375 4-speed Camaro which was much cooler than my car. |

I know the feeling. I found a '70 Nova "little old lady car" that sat in her garage for many years and bought it for my son's first car. Typical plain 307 auto with low mileage. We spent a lot of time getting rid of the mildew and mouse smells in it, but it was good enough for his first real "date" for his high school prom. He loved that car!
