I was with VMAT (AW) 202, the local A-6 rag outfit at MCAS Cherry Point in 74 - 75 and was driving a '73 Z at the time. I would have remembered a car like that, but that is a big, spread out place. They were just starting to bring crated AV-8A's in from the UK in that time frame, plus the local NARF on base was busy with aircraft coming out of SEA, so there were people everywhere. There were at least six squadrons of active aircraft, plus H&MS, H&MMS, and all the support people, warehouses, etc. Big place.
