Rick's right, Chevrolet geared up for production and many 71 LS6 Chevelle parts do indeed exist and that distributor is actually the only date of that number I have personally seen and I've had 2 that same part # and date.

The Corvette distributor was cast iron with a mechanical tach drive as well so there was no possibility of the 2054 distributor being used in any of the 71 LS6 vettes from the factory.
71 LS6 Chevelles would have been cool but like Rick states, no factory produced cars have surfaced with any iron clad proof of being factory built.
