It probably won't work out, but I have a friend who works at Bell Helicopter. He is going to talk to the shop foreman about what it will take to build a vac. mold to make a clear hood. Also going to look into the process of making the clear scoops.

Your clear hood idea is very cool. Here is a pic of one I saw at Carlisle last year.
