Krown makes a great protective coating also. Its sold in Canada and is used on farm equipment and vehicle undercarriages. I also used it to soften the rattle can undercoat on a '70 Trans am, it worked great.

My limited experience with Boeshield; it remains slightly tacky. Might attract/hold the chaff.

Not complaining, mind you. I love the stuff, but it might not be the answer for this application.
