Hello everyone..Alan Colvin here. I noticed this thread and wanted to clarify what is going on. While conducting a seminar at the IAAA conference in Scottsdale last month, I was asked if the possibility still existed that the records at Chevrolet still exist. Ever since I did my research for my books back in the '80's, I have always felt that they do in fact exist. I have been in communication with a variety of GM staffs since that time on a variety of projects. My response to the question at the IAAA conference was that I still felt that the records exist and if they were to ever come available, it would turn the hobby upside down...which it would. While that IAAA conversation was very exciting, I never stated that any pertintent records had been found. If I am ever involved with the discovery of such records in the future, everyone on the planet will know about it pronto. Hopefully this will put to rest what was said..

Welcome aboard Alan. Love your books and use them daily!
Not suprising on the misquotation. It is a shame but also too good to be true. We may never see these records but like you said, it would turn things upside down. Hope you continue to hang around with us.

Guys,
In one aspect I'm embarrised that I made the original post but not only did I hear it once but I talked to the gentleman after the seminar and he confirmed what he said. I guess the only good that came out of this is that we got to hear directly from Mr. Colvin. Sorry

Hello Alan,
Perhaps you remember me. My name appears in several of your books. You are not at fault for this temporary uphoria in our hobby. In my opinion, Mr Monolopi should not be allowed to speak at any future national seminars. As you know, I have spoken at numerous national seminars, but I always make sure my facts are facts before I open my mouth. Shame on this person for getting our hopes up once again for the enima our hobby desparately needs. Verne |

Hey Verne..sure I remember you. I hope all is well with you and yours. Tony is a good guy, runs a great association and I am sure he meant no ill intent. Everybody makes mistakes..and I have made plenty over a lifetime. Hopefully the records will turn up some day. Verne..can you send me your phone # as I want to discuss something with you?
