I have not seen photos of the stampings but know someone who has inspected the car. This is second hand info but I have no reason not to believe him. Of course, for those who are interested, inspect it for yourself.

If this is true, it will obviously reduce the fmv significantly - perhaps to its current bid, as that is the general range for a decent project deuce w/ no matching drivetrain (given other deuce sales in this condition/originality). You have to factor in ~15% on average for each missing drivetrain item, so that would knock it down by about 45-50%. So a high of $75-80kk becomes $40k in a hurry!

If this car is missing everything - and it is starting to look that way and it is a 107k mile car I think the bidding is really topped out already. This is going to be a very expensive restoration to complete if you want to do it correctly. The rear if even able to find will probably set you back a solid $20k + and then you have to account of full rotiserie restoration at a minumum of $60k - before you know it you have a car that is worth $100-$120k costing you $150k to buy and restore. I dont think this will ever be a money car for anyone - but given the right passion and effort it could be a very nice authentic piece to add to your collection. If the muscle car market ever goes back to 2008 prices then there might be some appreciation there.

This is exactly where a lot of us Deuce owners were back in the mid '90's - we knew we would be upside down, even with doing all the work ourselves! We didn't care, it was never a 'money thing'. That is likely why so many Deuces have long ownership tenures - even during the high dollar years, most stayed right where they were. Looking forward to the Ed's assessment. The BB xmember simply kicks the tail of the trans a 1/2 inch to the right, makes installing the bolts a little challenging but otherwise you just muscle it over.
