The newest drag racer gears up!

Back from a week off at the beach! Plan to swap some gears some night this week and hit the track again this weekend. I've got plenty of parts, just need some time! [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif[/img]

We are looking forward to hitting it again. Benjamin has asked me every day for the last 2 weeks when we are going racing next. The earliest would be this Saturday, but need to find the time to swap the small gear. Benjamin wants to race regardless, [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif[/img]

Wanted to share some pic's of Benjamin's first time winning a round of elimination. Yesterday we were expecting to pic up on the et's a bit, but when that didn't happen we decided to stop making changes and figure out our best dial. After just running an 18.02 I wanted to put a 17.95 on the board, but Benjamin was really uncomfortable with that and he wanted to change it to an 18.00 - so he did. He was up against an experienced racer in the 7.90 class. Benjamin drove it straight and didn't lift at the end, running an 18.04 on the 18.00 - winning the round!! After a frustrating morning, week, month.... it was just what we needed.



The Jr area can get a little busy, I had to run down from the starting line - our go-cart / tow vehicle ran out of gas and didn't like the alcohol. (oh, it burnt up a belt that morning too, a spare used jr belt fit the go-cart though!).



Shaking hands after the round. The fellow racers and crews were super congratulatory, Benjamin shook a lot of hands over the next few hours!



We found out that 8-10 year olds get a trophy if they win a round! Benjamin was thrilled, off we went to the tower to claim the prize. He didn't put it down till he got home.
