I guess I am missing something here, as I think the Ebay ad is very well done, not mis-leading at all. RARE 1968 Motion Corvette Mail -Order Car Documented and Autographed by Joel Rosen, Mr. Motion himself authenticating that Motion Parts were used in this Phase III GT MOTION conversion performed in 1973. Another very similar situation is the special paint '69 Yenko Nova, where the owners always been upfront and honest about how the car was built. Both very cool cars that I would love to own. IMO, it would benefit our hobby greatly if more folks were as upfront and honest as the past and present owners of these two cars have been.

My favorite part of the ad:
The car runs what MOTION guaranteed. It is probably a sub 11.5 car with sixty foot times of 1.7 to 1.8 range. It was always great to see that car run @ Gateway at the Supercar Reunion...you don't see many (any?) of those cars even attempting to back up that guarantee these days. While it may look the part, a trailer queen this car ain't... |

I sure tried pick up an 11.50 time slip. I thought that would go great with the car. The car had it in it easy. Weak link was the driver. I did reach 11.70 but always seemed to break something before I made an 11.50 pass. Two years in a row at Gateway I was on the trailer early. Once with twisted wheel studs and then the next year the ring and pinion lost a few teeth on a 4500 rpm launch with slicks. Man I miss that car!

I can't wait to run the Deuce at the Reunion this year. The problem is it will have the same weakness the Motion had. Me driving.
