Very stout looking beast. Wonder what the Aluminum block 5.4 cars weigh? Ford posted a nice profit recently - over a $1Bil? (w/o taking a gov/t hand out). Good on them!

That's a great step in the right direction,(especially in todays economy),but lets not forget Ford still has a big debt load, something that GM and Chrysler were able to greatly reduce by claiming bankruptcy. The company dropped long-term debt to $23 billion, but adding short-term debt and obligations to the UAW's retiree health-care trust,Ford's debt is still estimated at around $38 billion today.
Still,Keep it Ford!

I was sure hoping GM would answer FoMoCo's volley with a S/S offering of it's own in the new Camaro body, but instead all they offered us was a 'body in white', which is essentially their body/paint rejects off the assembly line...

Kudos to Ford, though...

GM shelved the Z/28 over a year ago but you can be sure that it will resurface if the economy improves. A 427 Camaro again would be nice. Ford borrowed $35 billion just before the banks went bust. This left GM and Chrysler hanging and they had to file for bankruptcy protection. In the end this may be their salvation and Ford's downfall. Ford still has the $35 billion debt hanging over their heads to be paid back while the other two are getting of scot free. Doesn't seem fair, but then, what is. Ford is still the only one building an affordable pony car. I saw a six cylinder Camaro the other day with a $38K price tag. Too rich for my liking and it isn't even an SS.

It's a shame that now when new cars are talked about here it seems to drift into discussions about bankruptcy, UAW and etc. Anybody just happy that some cool cars are coming out?

Did that v6 Camaro happen to have $10k in cash (or more!) in the glove box? The LS Camaro (base v6) stickers just under $23k I believe, the 1LT is $24k and the 2LT is $27 (both LTs are v6 cars)...heck the 1SS starts at $31k, and the 2SS starts at $34k.
