I have read that in 1969, the black paint code on a camaro and probably all the other models was not an option until mid year of production. Does anyone know when the black paint was available as a normal production order? And i guess more important, what this true about the black paint and not being available till later?

Black was not an RPO color at the start of 69 production but early production black cars were built. When black became an RPO color it was at extra-cost; $12.65 I believe. I have several window sticker copies that show the charge.
