Exactly what I was thinking. As we all know the SS came back in 1996 as an SLP conversion. The sales numbers soon forced the factory to build them.
Given the 6-7 announced tuner conversion facilities that have announced to date I would think it may be just a bit hasty to count the Z/28 as "dead" (just yet) since with the engineering complete - the offering could be as close as strong manufacturer/converter and an agreed contract with GM to convert cars. I have no doubt that with factory sponsorship there would be a long waiting list. |

"with the engineering complete" Not quite, they never finished testing the rear in terms of durability. The engine is the one used in the CTS-V. I bet they release archived first generation Camaro records/documentation before they build the Z28.
