I think the biggest problem I have had in the past is the relay on the firewall wasn't getting a good ground.

I helped a friend w/ a repop set up recently and we had issues with the reproduction switch on the acelerator arm.
Took two different switches from Classic. I think Mike is right on ground, ground ,ground..A little sandpaper and a meter will allow you to chase the problem. Jim
