That looks like the pan on my 67 Impala BB it has the step is so it clears the center link. Someone has welded a deeper sump on it.

There was a thread that discussed weather or not these pans came from the factory or who was extending them. Details of the conversation included the type and quality of the weld and paint finish. I had coco pebbles for breakfast, right? ![]() |

Look at the inside of the pan, you will see a cut area where the pan was cut off, with a good wash you can also see the blueing from a cut off wheel. for a manufacturer to sell over the counter such a modified part would not be to cost effective. also the type of mig weld does not fit any early era. I do not have the link on this computer but the early ad for the BT Nickey Camaro shows such a early modified pan, I have had a few of them good pan and not the china stuff we see today... but just a old school oil pan!

Thanks for the pic X baldwin Motion. Reading the thread that MR70 found, it appears that the Gibb cars received these types of pans. Can I make that assement? Did anyone else use this pan like Dana, Harrell, or Nickey, etc.
After looking over this pan I did find that it was cutoff as beater68427 said , however I also found spot weld indentations where it was attached for welding. |
