For those that don't know HM was arguably THE hi po chevy dealer for the L.A metro area during that time. I hope Joe can post pics of his car there on the front line waiting for him-you should see some of the other iron sitting next to it. |

[/ QUOTE ] Actually Mark, Bruce did a Member's Rides Feature a couple months ago. Check it out here - '69 Novajoe Feature And thanks again to all you guys for the comments and suggestions. Believe me, I've tried to get that back seat out and it just won't budge!! The tow truck driver even tried to pull it from the BACK of the bottom cushion until I about had a heart-attack when I heard the springs starting to "complain" BTW,there is a picture of the "build sheet" (or is it the broadcast sheet?) in the Member's Rides feature. A friend found it under the front seat about 8 years ago!!!Joe C.

I really had no idea they were that big into high performance stuff back in the day. I was just a dumb kid out of the service looking for a way to go fast ![]() And thanks Bill P. for the info on removing the back seat. A few years ago, I did try a pry bar to no avail. So the "seat" is still a "virgin" I guess !!Joe C.

Joe remind me the next time we meet and I will pull the back seat out for you. A good kick on the bottom of the lower cushion on both sides will let you push the lower cushion back then up and out of the way. After this the 2 bolts are exposed at the bottom of the upper cushion, you may have to bend the alignment tabs at the bottom then hit the upper cushion up and back at the top to pop it loose. My buddy that sold the 67 Z/28 to Charley owns an upholstery shop and he did a bunch of these cars.

Believe me, I've tried to get that back seat out and it just won't budge!! [/ QUOTE ] There are some cars where it does seem virtually impossible to get that bottom cushion out. I had an EXTREMELY difficult time getting it out of my Chevelle, and when I finally did, I filed down the brackets on the floor so that I would never have that much trouble again. It can be a huge help to have someone else pushing back on that bottom cushion while you look under the lower edge of the cushion to see the position of the seat frame in relation to the bracket it's hooked into I'd bet at the assembly plant they either had some huge gorilla of a guy putting those in, or else they had a huge pry bar for 'persuasion' ![]() Outstanding car, Joe, and kudos to you for taking such great care of it all these years ![]()
