I've been reading this thread from the beginning but holding off on comment.
Well, you seem to be going through a lot of worry over an AACA show. I could see you maybe worrying about a Chev Vette-Fest show or some other specialized venue for your type of car...........but NOT an AACA show. Paint the air cleaner orange; they won't know the difference. Just make it clean and shiny.
