What ever that is it isn't a casting date. With the exception of ZL-1 Camaros #1 & #2 [which had pilot engines built in Flint] production blocks were cast in '69.
The dimpling on the deck is a crude attempt to achieve better head gasket sealing. Indicates a larger problem. At second glance I'm not certain that is a production ZL-1 block. There is no snowflake and it does not appear to have provision for a mechanical fuel pump. Hmm... |
