That is the correct assembly line filter. Brian Caudell used to reproduce them, they had the right B/W screening on the side but were not correctly embossed on the bottom. It is good to finally see the real one.

Cool to finally see one of these originals.

Is Brian still reproducing them?

Any chance of getting a square picture with a horizontal and vertical ruler for reference for the right, center and left?

Thanks,
Greg

I believe Brian Caudell got out of the reproduction parts business a number of years ago.

That's right. I tried to get some of the assembly line look alikes around 1997 from him and it was already getting tough to get any product then. As I recall He was taking PF-25's stripping the blue off doing a white repaint and then sending them out to a screen shop for the Black imprinting.

Filters were still obvious repops, but at a glance-good enough. I suppose you could do a one off with a correct NOS embossed filter but that would be $$$.$$ easy when you are all done.

Chickened out on leaving the orig oil and filter on the car, drained the oil and changed the filter. Obvious from paint on edge of drain plug gasket that pan was painted with plug installed.

I decided to try to make one of the assembly line style oil filters. First run was so so. I need to make another screen for bolder letters. I did not have measurements so the size was a best guess. I also need screen ink that does not set up as fast the current paint. It probably would have been faster to just make clear labels.
