Fisher body painted the bodies and whatever assembly plant painted the front end components separately, the metallic paint cars were ALWAYS mis-matched ... from day one. I worked at the main Pontiac plant from 71-74 and was amazed at how different certain colors would look, but since "that was the way it was done" no one seemed to care that the fenders never matched the doors ...
