Nice car... if my memory serves though (I'm getting up there) the CA DMV stopped issueing "black plates" in the March - May timeframe, 1969. Anything registered in July, 1970 would have gotten blue/yellow tags. That sequence looks like late 68, early 69, but I have been wrong before. And the left sticker area is reserved for the month the right year sticker expires.
