Default NOS A212CX air filter element in the box dated 1970

Hi Gang,

I was able to score a nearly full NOS case of these air filter elements...

I had found 4 of 5 of them in the case. I just gave the first one away on eBay...

A212CX GM NOS BEST WAY TO PROTECT YOUR ENGINE-REPLACE WITH AC TYPE 6424613

I have three more of these very RARE and seldom seen anymore NOS GM AC Delco AIR FILTERS available here.

They are the rare "AC Performance Line" air filter 6424613 - the A212CX - NOT the regular use A212CW - it has a similar oil-wetted paper element that of course, now appears yellowed but the wire mesh is doubled. This was to give an extra layer of protection - often sought out in performance street and heavy duty / utility or commercial and industrial applications.

Used in the popular open element and cowl induction air cleaner set ups on our favorite GM performance models from about 1965 - 1972 65-72

This is a type of aftermarket or Day 2 part by AC Delco / GM rather than an assembly line installed unit as I understand it.

DIAMOND MESH (expanded) screen with a second layer of finer mesh (double mesh) behind it and visible from the front - that second layer is the same as the back or inside layer. The extra layer of mesh behind the outer mesh. This filter is nice and clean and the outer most mesh is very shiny.

This is the heavy duty version of the more common A212CW air filter sold over the counter at GM dealerships.

The logo is screen printed in white and not embossed or raised or molded and states "best way to protect your engine - replace with AC type A212CX".

The AC performance logo sticker is included, but recall it's 55 years old and may or may not be viable as an actual sticker of course! I only have two more of those though.

The box of the first one was dated February 1970 and was beat - it had some damage and was oil soaked it looked like, likely from the wetting agent in the filer itself wicking out into the cardboard over the last five decades and a half... cool item here.

LOTS of details photos below of the first (sold) one from the old listing, the other remaining ones are in similar condition.

Priced here individually.

PM or post if you want all of them and the case.

Cheers,
Anthony
