Dubbed, “The Ultimate C2” – this awesome 1966 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Coupe is loaded with desirable options and is in show quality condition throughout. It looks and performs excellent! This car is one of only 9,958 Corvette coupes produced in 1966. As the original Trim Tag indicates this car was originally built on September 24th, 1965 in St. Louis, Missouri with a Nassau Blue Metallic exterior along with a White and Blue interior. From the information gathered it was originally equipped with a 427/390hp V8 and 4-speed manual transmission. This car is the recipient of a nut and bolt restoration with great attention to detail. The painstaking restoration was undertaken over a period of many years by its former owner. The vision of the build was to create the ultimate C2 with the features that Corvette enthusiasts crave. The fiberglass body was stripped and prepped with laser straight lines. The special “big block” bubble hood and fender vents add to the factory sporty design. The body was refinished in desirable and correct Rally Red which was an available color choice in 1966. The high quality paint was recently detailed to a mirror finish. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced new such as all the glass, stainless trim, wiper arms, driver's side mirror, hood vents, front grill, spilt bumpers, parking lights, rocker moldings, tail lights and emblems. The car rolls on desirable 15” Kelsey Hayes knock-off wheels that are wrapped with Cooker Classic Redline tires. The exterior is complimented with a desirable and correct new black interior which was an available color choice in 1966. The color combination a Red exterior and Black interior is striking. Everything in the interior was restored or replaced new such as the headliner, dome light, rear view mirror, dash pad and fascia, gauges, analog clock, temperature controls, AM/FM radio with power antenna, 3-spoke wood trimmed steering wheel, aluminum trimmed glove box fascia and center console, original shifter, door panels, bucket seats, seat belts and carpeting. The spacious rear cargo area was also covered with new carpeting. The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. The backside of the hood, firewall, inner fenders and radiator support panel was refinished in the correct satin black color. The car is powered by a correct 427 V8 with 425hp upgrades including the camshaft, rectangular port heads and aluminum intake. The engine was completely rebuilt and runs excellent. The engine was outfitted with the correct orange valve covers, Holley carburetor and chrome air cleaner with 427/425hp decal. Everything in the engine compartment was restored or replaced new such as the wiring, ignition system, alternator, hoses, radiator, fan, exhaust manifolds and battery. The engine breathes through the desirable and correct side mounted exhaust system which sound so sweet. The engine is coupled to a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission that was rebuilt and shifts smoothly. The undercarriage is highly detailed throughout. Everything underneath was restored or replaced new which should be displayed with mirrors at a car show. It's equipped with power steering and 4-sheel disc brakes with correct 4-piston calipers. The rear suspension was upgraded with C3 components for a better ride. This car was recently completely serviced and detailed which is documented with an invoice that's included. From the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.
