They are interesting caps for sure!
A pair came on the front of my barn find when I found it in 2007ish, see post #16 here for a couple of photos of them on steel wheels:

The story from the OO was that they were the only hubcap he could run while racing it as the lugs held them on and he liked the look of hubcaps... he said he always got a kick out of the techs trying to pull them off during tech... they always relented and let him run since they were secure.
