Gravity is you friend.

The spring pressure over time warped it.

Take the springs off, place thin boards over the hood pins and place the lead shot or similar weight over top where the front of the hinge attachment points connect to the underside of the hood and over time the warp will slowly disappear. It took years for the hood to warp, it may take a similar amount of time for it to un-warp. If you do not have this amount of patience, the hood can be cut and re-built to take the warp out.
