Just did it in January and used a broker. My point was, the seller does not need to be involved in the process beyond signing the bill of sale if you "buy" the car in person. When you do this, you become the exporter rather than the seller And the broker can use your passport number.

If you are shipping with TFX, they will handle all of the import process for $250 or $295 (can't remember which it was ).
