Default Re: Woj Phil Wojnarowski/Jim Walker1969 COPO Chevelle

I did mention this (more briedfly though) in my side of the Hemmings Story, but that was cut by the editors.

The owner previous to me found the engine in a shop in the early 90's. He was very knowledgeable regarding hi perf Chevrolet parts and immediately recognized the MP code on the engine pad. He took note of the VIN and did a reverse look up through the DMV. He found the car, bought it and reunited the car with the engine shortly thereafter.

The stamps on the block are undoubtedly original and the date matches 3 other known COPO Chevelle engines built within the same couple of weeks. These were obviously built in a batch like most other hi perf parts from the era.

I'm sure many will be asking the same question. I have been in this hobby for many decades and have no doubt that the original engine is back where it belongs.
