Default Re: Holley DZ carb.

That is the correct carb for a ``68-`69 Z28. It is a "service replacement" unit which means it was not installed on the assembly line, it is an over-the-counter replacement carb. The "0230" stamped below the "LIST 4053" is the date code. Yours was built either in 1980, 1990, 2000 or 2010 as indicated by the last character "0". The "023" is the day of the year, in this case January 23rd.

Were it an assembly line carb, it would have a 3 character date code as seen in the one I posted above. (the dating system was changed somewhere around 1971/1972) The "952" denotes a 2nd week of May 1969 build and breaks down as follows:

&quot;9&quot; is the year of the decade, in this case 196<span style="font-weight: bold">9</span>.
&quot;5&quot; is the month, May in this instance. Note that 1-9 was used for January-September, but October used an &quot;0&quot;, November was an &quot;A&quot; and December was a &quot;B&quot;.
&quot;2&quot; is the week of the month, 1 through 5.

Hope that helps.
