The Horse Knows!

Thought I would share Karen's latest passion [besides me [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif[/img]] with you good folks...it is a good fit for the holiday season. As many of you know she devotes time to the Wounded Warrior Project and to helping veterans, especially women vets. All of that effort has lead her to become part of a new Equine Therapy program called ACCT Naturally. This start-up non-profit takes retired race horses and trains them to be real horses again and in the process brings in women who need help and makes them part of the training process.

Our local NBC tv station did a special story on Monday about this new program...one of the people helping in this effort is former professional jockey Julie Krone. ACCT Naturally hopes to grow and expand the program to help women who have suffered spousal abuse, have PTSD and even help children who have not had the best of what life offers.

Karen took me to the farm where the program operates this past weekend...there is a truly great healing power in man's relationship with horses...I'm confident this will be a huge success. The tv spot aired on Tuesday and the phone has been ringing steady with folks who want to be part of the horse therapy at ACCT Naturally.
