This is a great thread, that has tought or reminded me of several things:

1. I miss urban grit.
2. We are no where near as industrialised as we once were.
3. The '70s really were a fashion disaster.
4. There were some really sad Chistmas trees in the past.
5. Maybe restoring things to how they were originally built is over sanitising reality.
