The MCACN show is the perfect venue to get the exposure this car deserves. In addition this would be a great car for Vintage Certification. A team of judges (4-5) spend 3 hours independently evaluating the originality of every car participating in our program. You receive a six page detailed report with our findings which provides provenance to each car.
Unfortunately I have never had an opportunity to see this car, but there is nothing like a survivor. Regarding paint, and the question raised regarding the possibility of clear coat being applied I would recommend (carefully) applying a polishing compound (mild abrasive) to the paint in specific areas and verify if gold paint residue is transferred to the polishing cloth. Besides tape lines and paint thickness, it is advisable to verify if any molding or hardware has been removed. Glen, we would love to have this car participate in MCACN show. Good luck with the sale.
