I just picked up the two new sample panels from Bodyguy...but of course, we're inundated with liquid sunshine right now, so I'm again back to "hurry up and wait" mode.
The last 3 projects I've done that managed to make their way to the paint booth were actually easy paint decisions...a `75 Monza hotrod that was painted black, my old Pro Street `67 Chevelle that was painted black, and my old `57 Chevy Sedan that was painted Torch Red. I was 100% confident with my choice on each of those projects. This project is an entirely different ballgame. I'm intentionally trying to avoid having an end product that's so obviously "non-stock". Since the onset I've leaned heavily towards Deepwater (as explained recently), esp. considering this isn't a numbers resto--in which case it would've went back to it's original Marina Blue with a Bright Blue interior. I guess I was a little derailed when this sample of Deepwater seemed so far off from what my mind's eye remembered. I can't say yet with any certainty what my final choice will be until I can review these last two samples in good daylight, but I can say that the `66 Nightwatch is off the table, and the `67 Deepwater is still a very strong possibility. |
