Default Can someone explain the authenticity of this piece

Hi all!

I saw this auction on eBay for a Camaro/Nova block-off
piece recently and was wondering why the bidding went so
high. Is this an original piece? Is it not reproduced?
Lastly, where exactly does it go?

Camaro/Nova block-off piece auction

It would go where the SB heater hose outlets would normally protrude through the firewall...
I would assume that all BB cars received this piece as my old 68 BB Camaro had one just like it... to block the crescents in the firewall where the SB outlets were...
The repro is junk compared to the original... not near the same size or density.

James,

Thanks for the reply. I can't recall ever seeing one of these
on eBay before or anywhere else for that matter. Now I'm
going to have to keep my eyes peeled for one of these little
gems too. Aaah - where does it all end?

Greenville, SC - huh! I'm just up the road in Hendersonville.

Thanks,
Steve

I needed one when I did the BB conversion on my Nova. A member here, Allen, had a nice one for 60 bucks. He may have another one Steve. Mine cleaned up nice.

Greenville, SC - huh! I'm just up the road in Hendersonville.

My office and warehouse is on the north side of Greenville only about 30 minutes from Hendersonville...
My house is about 20 -30 min from the office on the otherside of town... near the GSP Airport & I-85/I-385 interchange.
Come on down sometime and we will run around and look at the Camaro's around here... a bunch of 69 Z's a 68 Z 69 BB Conv and a 69 COPO clone as well as quite a few early 70's Z's...
You need to come down to the Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet Cruise In's once a month... there are usually so many cars that they won't fit in the parking lot...

James,

Thanks for the offer. I'm going to take you up on that.
I actually fly out of GSP every week to Philly so I know
exactly where you are. Think they'll mind if I take my
Cobra to the Cruise-In?
