Just went to the local rod & custom show this past weekend and came across this COPO that's owned locally. Have people seen this one around?

Hi: In 1978 I bought a 1969 Copo Camaro. I paid $5,200.00 for the car. It had 14,000 original miles. Vin # 124379N657861. In 1979, I took out the original engine and built a 69 Corvette, 427. I was only 21 years old at the time but I knew the engine was special to the car. In 1981, I drove the car to the Street Machine Nationals – Indianapolis, which was 550 miles, one-way. I sold the car in 1998 after terrorizing the small town of Acton, Ontario, Canada. I drove this car 30,000 miles and it NEVER let me down. I HAD A LOT OF FUN! I believe that this is the same car and would love to know if in fact it is.

Barry, you're in luck. I took a photo of the repro window sticker, and sure enough the VIN matches. Here are some more pix. Enjoy!

I thought maybe Barry pulled it but then reinstalled it at some point. Any insights, Barry? I thought the current owners would like to hear from Barry, but maybe not if he has some bad news for them... ![]()

Its funny as I have never documented this car in the last 10 years that I can see. I thought I had done all the COPO cars by now, never ceases to surprise me!

Vey cool story Barry. . Sounds like you had some fun through your time as caretaker of this Copo....sure gives the old Acton 'worth the drive' thing a better meaning! . I see by the repop window sticker it's another Belmont car. . Did you get any paperwork w/ the car, document it or find any in it when you had it? ~ Pete
