Yes,that is one area to look for one,but I have never seen one all laid out & open like that there.
I usually find them rolled or folded up tighter and snuggled up against the seat frame/springs with a Hog Ring or two. |

Thanks mr70 so I would have to pull back that sheet of fabric and it would be under there. That explains why 2 cars i have looked for a buildsheet had that fabric all cut up around that area.

Carmen,
A lot of where you may find the build sheet will have to do with what plant it was built in. If you can tell me what plant it is, I can direct you where to start your search so as to help you narrow it down and not tear the whole car apart looking for it. Also, in most cases you should not have to pull back fabric, simply remove the seat and flip it over.

On my L78 camaro I can feel a piece of paper on the passenger side of the gas tank, when I run low on gas Ill drop it and see if its a build sheet or some sort of sticker..

If the buildsheet is there Sam, I would consider not selling it, since the value will increase with paperwork. JMO

There is more fraud in this hobby now than ever before. ![]() <img src="https://www.yenko.net/attachments/154759- FakeBuildsheet.jpg"> [/ QUOTE ] Unfortunatley the hobby is now a profit model for the entrepreneurial.I have little pity for those who get burned purchasing anything without doing the proper due dilligence-the facts are out there(internet) you just need to do the research. This member base has the sharpest cats in the hobby lurkin around..rarely does a car come across here that isn't pretty much exposed or validated(lots of egos keeps it real honest ![]() Just a thought |

Well said. One problem is the hurry-up nature of most deals. While you're taking the time to research a car some other guy might come in and grab it. Yeah, it might be a fake but it might be the real thing and the other guy's coming to look at the car later today and he says he really wants it. Better hurry or it'll be gone.

I agree people should do there research. But i guy like me who has never seen a real buildsheet or pop has a harder time spotting a fake. Also it has been mentioned on this site that some of this stuff is getting harder and harder to tell if fake or not. I guess if i ever find a car I will have to see if i can pay mr70 to come out and look at it for me.
