There was an Yenko aluminum engine on Ebay a while back that was going for 20K. Didn't Yenko install aluminum engines in some of the 1969 cars?

Back in those days you could buy an Alumnium 427 or 454 block over the GM parts counter.Just add Aluminum intake and Aluminum heads, and you are Golden..I mean Aluminum!

I would think they did put it in cars as well. Given the fact that it has the Yenko name stamped all over the engine. I think it'd be a shame if it was tucked away in a boat where no one could see it.

The Yenko alu blocks came out long after the 1969 Yenko cars. Chevy sold the alu blocks up until the early 1970s then discontinued them. Then Chevy allowed Yenko to have some made using the Chevy tooling. The Yenko alu blocks were used in SCCA road racing Corvettes, sprint cars, drag cars, etc. I don't know of any Yenko street cars that used the Yenko alu block.

In 1985 I went with a buddy to pick up ZL1
#47 very close to original selling dealer here in MN.It had a Yenko block in it then.
The engine was rebuilt and Yenko ground off.
May still be in the car?He sold it in 1986 for $24,000 and finished his basement with the profit. Both wife and house are gone now.
