Just pulled out an old issue of All Chevy magazine, June 93. Stated that the owner Chris Edwards is a UPS driver. Is that info all wrong? You had the car at SC Indy under the big circus tent along with Dan Bodner's Yellow Yenko and many others...BKH

Yes, I work for UPS. I had it at Super Chevy in Indy about 10 or 12 years ago. I haven't been back at Super Chevy since. I think Mick Price put that gathering together. Alot of nice people and real nice cars. That's my car in All Chevy magazine. The pictures make the car look darker than it really is. The photographer couldn't understand why it came up looking so dark. When he first saw it he was excited about it.He really liked the bright green with white stripes. It was almost 2 years before it came out in a mag. As far as I know that's the only mag it has been in. It was in some muscle car trading cards I do believe. I don't follow the hobby as much as I use to, but when I got phone calls lately from people wanting to know if I might sell it, I thought I should investigate the situation. From the e-mails I've gotten alot of people want Yenkos. I might try and find a copy of an appraisal that Edward Cunneen did on the car. I think you can believe what Mr. Cunneen has to say about a car. Later!!

bkhpah, I now have the 69 Yellow Yenko that belonged to Dan Bodner. I visited with him just before Christmas and he was going to send me copies of the old Super 8 films of the car running at Keystone Raceway when Anthony Mandella owned it. A tragic event happen on Dec.26th,he only son was killed in a automobile accident on the way to a job. I have been in touch with him since and he is really taking it hard (as I would also do, as I only have one child, a son). The Lord blessed Don with a daughter also and she is still living at home. He really loved that Yenko. He still plays with street rods.

Was at the funeral, Dan is a good friend. We worked on Dan's car a few years ago, Changed exhaust, rear gearing, tire, wheels etc. It was owned at that time by a fellow in Philly. He said he had spoken to the new owner at the funeral. Call me if you want to learn more of what we found...BKH

Sorry to hear of the passing of Dan's son. I talked to Dan a few times, seemed like a very nice fellow. I seen his Yenko at Keystone and also P.I.D. (Pittsburgh International Dragway) back in 1969, can't remember to much about it, I think they original owner had rubbed the side stripes off? Strange thing, Brian H. was at Keystone drag strip on its opening day in 1967 with his father and I was running a 1965 442, made it to the trophy and was beaten by a 1967 Chevelle SS convertible. (Maroon with white top) funny, I can remember what happened 35 years ago but can't remember what happened 35 minutes ago! Its hell to get old!

I've seen the Bodnar films of the car at Keystone. The decals were removed because Yenko would not warrenty his transmissions anymore after they found out he was breaking them at the drag strip. I think the owner felt it was free advertisment for Yenko. Was told that the first M21 only lasted a day. Mark Kickles car, my old Yenko and Dans car were all consecutive body numbers. Both Dans and mine were sold new at Yenko, Marks was sold from Grossman's. We always thought that was kind of neat to have three cars still together that close...BKH
