Interesting...two black plate California cars looking pretty rough...and I do see an L88 designation on the console trim plate on one of them. Long shot but I'd be heading over there for a look if I were in the central CA area.

Tony’s right, someone close should get their eyeballs on the scene! Looks like the cars were likely owned by an old Corvette guy, no luck w/ XZG580 but CA VJW763 Black Plate previously registered to a ‘61 FI 4-Spd. for sale 07/62 as Ad below. ![]() ![]() ~ Pete .

----As information only, the console shot with the L-88 tag is from a 68, for what that's worth. And, no apparent L-88 hood, but that would have been robbed, probably. I didn't see anything else that might have pointed to L-88, but the pics are horrible, so it's defintly worth a look....Bill S

Makes sense Bill w/ Console missing from Coupe so L88 Tag on the ‘68 ‘Vert. Seller notes Engine from ‘Vert in the Coupe now, again someone near needs to have a look. ![]() ~ Pete .

----You are so right, Mark. Small block style radiator would have come on a delivered L-88....Bill S

----Another member PM'd me and said "can't be an L-88 because it has a fan shroud. I had a 69 L-88 Monaco Orange L-88 roadster back in the mid 70's and it had a small block fan shroud in place to try and keep it running somewhat cool, so I'm sure the original owner of mine did the same thing. L-88's are no fun sitting on the side of the road with steam coming out of the engine compartment. Mine never overheated!....Bill S
