They had plenty of time to do their research/due diligence on this one ! Mecum had this upcoming lot listed for month's. And this post questioning this car was started in October I believe ?

I got no other idea, other than maybe that one protecto plate in the mecum listing is the second issued. I know a guy with z/28s that have second issues for his, where one a mechanic had for a short while and sold. In that case, maybe the first one is a screw up. I wonder if you could tell from the ncrs doc on the car, if the protecto plate is inline with the early protecto plate date or the second.

Definitely new owner is going to have to do some detective work......but I would be sick if I bought that car at the moment.
