Dubbed, “Tour De Force”. This 1970 Chevrolet Camaro SS is an X-rated muscle car that was built by Health Elmer Restorations and Pryde Fabrication. It’s equipped with a DSE “Detroit Speed Engineering” full roll cage from front to back and a DSE subframe with subframe connectors for precise performance. It’s achieved multiple Goodguys awards including Gazette Pick, Mighty Muscle Pick, Builders Choice and Muscle Machine of the year participant. It also was a Goodguys Autocross participant. It has been featured in multiple magazines including Goodguys and Popular Hot Rodding. The documentation for the awards and magazines are included. This second generation Camaro is the ultimate street machine with its aggressive appearance and modern technology. The exterior body is very straight with excellent gaps lines throughout. It was finished in Gun Metal Gray with black trim which looks radical. The paint work is beautiful and visually stunning. It was outfitted with an Anvil carbon fiber hood, trunk lid and rear filler panel. Some additional exterior custom touches include third generation Camaro mirrors, Buick door handles, narrowed and painted front bumper. All of the tinted glass was replaced new. The car has a killer stance on satin black Rushforth Whiplash 18” wheels. The front wheels are 18x10 with new BF Goodrich G-Force Rival 275-35-18 tires. The rear has a DSE mini tub kit for the massive 18x12 wheels with new BF Goodrich 335-30-18 tires. The one-of-a-kind interior was done by the Upholstery Shop and Sound Expressions. It resembles a high-tech aircraft cockpit more than a 52-year-old car. Some of the interior custom features include billet aluminum trim throughout, metal dash, aviation inspired billet gauge bezels, Speed Hut gauges, vents, push button start, tilt steering column, Momo steering wheel, Vintage Air Conditioning, door panels, door handles, rear panels, pedals, Recaro leather front and rear seats, AM Safe aviation 4-point front seat harnesses, rear seat belts, console with shifter, power window switches and cup holder. It’s equipped with a high end Pioneer and Rockford Fosgate sound system consisting of a modern stereo, two amplifiers, two tweeters, four speakers and three subwoofers. The trunk compartment was boxed and carpeted to match the interior theme. The engine compartment is highly detailed with many custom features throughout. The firewall was painted body color and dressed with custom trim. The Anvil carbon fiber hood is held with black aluminum hinges. The car is powered by a Mach Development 427 V8 that dyno tested over 600HP. The engine was built with high quality performance parts such as a Scat forged crankshaft, Carrillo rods, JE forged pistons, Comp camshaft, Dart aluminum heads and Manley valves. The engine was dressed with custom valve covers with breather vent tanks, March Performance Pro Track air cleaner, Vintage Air front runner pulley system and Holley Sniper fuel injection system. The engine is cooled by a Ron Davis aluminum radiator, DSE water pump and dual electric fans. The engine breathes out custom headers and dual 3” black ceramic coated exhaust with Borla mufflers. The engine is coupled to a Tremec T56 Magnum 6-speed manual with McLeod Racing twin-disc clutch. The power is transferred to the DSE narrowed 9” rear end with Truetrac differential with 3.89 gears. It’s equipped with a DSE rack and pinion power steering system with DSE Delphi 600 pump. The undercarriage is highly detailed with many custom features throughout. The front suspension consists of C6 spindles, DSE splined sway bar and JRi coilovers. The rear suspension consists of a DSE Quadralink triangulated four-link with splined sway bar and JRi coilovers. The Hydratech power braking system includes a Wilwood master cylinder and Baer 6-piston four wheel disc brakes.
