My lead didn't work out - hook had been sold but was still showing as available.

Anyone here ever rivet the add-on piece to a standard load rest?
Also, should the whole unit be blue, or should the rivet and add-on be natural? Said another way, was the add-on riveted before or after the load rest was painted? |

Gary, I don't know of anyone who has done that, but I'm planning to; just need to find the correct type of rivet. My load rest hook is missing the mast piece which you can pick up for $45-50. Although the VE3 hook with bracket already riveted on is also available repro for <$100, there are some obvious differences in profile and metal thickness, so will be keeping as much as I can GM.
While these items are pretty rare to see these days, every original I've seen has been all light blue, so painted after attachment of the mast piece to the hook.

They are suppose to be a darker shade of blue.
