Ha! Funny you should mention Buick GS, Bill. Jeff Koch said that the mag has already received comments from upset readers that said "where's the 3 way comparison with the Buick?"

Can't please all the people.......

BTW, John's wife, Angie, caught these action shots of the cars !

Drop the air pressure down to 14 on the tires on the deuce, come out of the hole at about 4 grand and go kick both their a$$es.

I just got this issue and it was a fine one indeed. That LS6 is one of the nicest combos I have ever seen too. Gorgeous car..

Ahh Schonye - those poor unsuspecting BBs.

P.S. I think I'll bottle the 41 y.o. Mc Creary tire smoke - there could be a market for it! I remember as a kid passing the Mc C plant in Indiana, PA and taking in a nice dose of that "sweet" rubbery air! I enjoyed the article the other day when I read it. Its hard for me to not give a slight edge to a hemi vs an LS6. Even if they drive the same, the freight train sound and feel of that engine is unforgettable if you drive one. No doubt the chevelle is the better built car by far (full frame), it does have to cary that heavy frame around with it where ever it goes though. Black with red interior chevelle is such a cool color combo.
What blew my mind was the 4:10 with the auto on the cuda. Isn't that pretty low for an auto? Hemi engines back then used to suck the pan dry (from people I have talked to and raced hemi cars, you had to do things inside the block to get the oil to drain quickly back down to the pan or else..) if you kept the rpms pegged for a long time, so that rear gear ratio caught my eye.
Both cars looked great and were great to read about.

It was indeed another great article in HMM. I don't think it gets much better than a black, red gut LS6. Without question, the nicest color combination ever. However, truth be known, I would have a REALLY hard time picking between those two cars if someone offered either of them to me. You just cannot beat the looks a the Hemi Cuda. Nice job by both guys! Dave House (ngtflyr) and I own the 'cuda together. We had both wanted to own one forever and splitting it halfsies made it (more) affordable. We picked it up 5 years ago in a trade with Bill Weimann. As for the 4.10 gears in an auto Hemi, you had to seek it out cause the regular gears and rear on a Hemi auto was an 8 and 3/4 axle with 3.54 gears (maybe 3.23?). Original owner wanted the bulletproof Dana 60 with 4.10 gears and paid for it - not cheap. Don't know of the oil return issues, but suspect Chrysler engineers wouldn't put a 4.10 behind their hemi autos without some severe duty testing.

So that must mean that Dave is sitting on your lap if he is steering... ...
